Watching Thanos complete his hero's journey and wiping out half of the universe, along with some of the MCU's most beloved heroes, was nearly too much for some fans to handle.

According to the synopsis from Licensing Magazine, the characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe will understand how fragile their world is and they must make the ultimate sacrifice in order to save it. It's somewhat surprising that the Xandarians, a peaceful, human-like race, didn't feature in Avengers: Infinity War, though as Stephen McFeely tells Collider, doing so would have risked evoking a sense of repetition as Thanos goes about collecting all six Infinity Stones. We'll see what rumors hold true when Avengers 4 hits theaters next May. So even though they survived the unthinkable genocide of half of existence, there's a good chance that some of those veterans might well retire part of the way through Avengers 4, especially since a few of them are coming to the end of their contract. After all, the fourth film will resurrect the characters that were killed by Thanos with his snapped his finger.

Back in February, "Black Panther" was released and it soon became the ninth-highest grossing movie of all-time. Other MCU characters weren't so lucky - like Central Intelligence Agency agent Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp), with whom Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) shared a passionate kiss in Captain America: Civil War.

For the uninitiated, Xandar is home to the Nova Corps and featured quite prominently in James Gunn's first Guardians of the Galaxy movie, which reached its conclusion just as Star-Lord and his fellow A-Holes left the Power Stone on Xandar - much to the dismay of Yondu and his Ravagers. Ant-Man and the Wasp will release on July 6.

If you're a fan of movies, there's no avoiding Marvel films right now. The synopsis reads: "A culmination of 22 interconnected films the fourth installment of the Avengers saga will draw audiences to witness the turning point of this epic journey".

Starlin created several cosmic figures such as Eros a.k.a. Starfox, Pip the Troll, Thanos's father A'Lar, and Lady Death.

Avengers: Infinity War is now playing in theaters.
