In a statement, World Choice Sports said that it had been forced to cancel three charter flights into Kiev's Borispyl airport after it failed to secure the landing slots, blaming the cancellations on the destination airport.

Worldchoice added that it had done everything it could to secure slots, but that to "reiterate, the problem IS with Kiev".

Today I worked with.@Vitaliy_Klychko to help and negotiate with the Director of the Airport in Kiev two slots for aircraft booked by World Choice Sports to arrive at 3.00 pm and 3.45 pm.

Now, Liverpool has ridden Jurgen Klopp and his high-octane gegenpressing style back to the Champions League final, this time against Real Madrid, so we thought it would be the ideal time to take a look back at the Liverpool squad that won the 2005 UEFA Champions League final.

The club told supporters: "Along with officials from Liverpool John Lennon airport, Liverpool city council, Uefa and the authorities in Kiev, Liverpool FC has been endeavouring to resolve the issue since it first came to light and will continue to do so until all avenues have been exhausted". What happens next is up to this company to sort and hopefully they can for all. Earlier in the day the club had confirmed that around 1,000 fans had been left without any way of reaching Saturday's final against Real Madrid after the Widnes-based travel operator World Choice Sports said it was left with no option but to cancel flights. Work is ongoing, and we are optimistic that together will obtain a favourable resolution.
