I bet Ronaldo stays at Madrid, says Casemiro

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius has accepted the blame for his team's 3-1 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League final, in which he made two terrible errors that both led to goals.

In a first reckless act by Karius, he gathered an aimless Madrid throughball at the edge of his penalty area, then tried to roll the ball underarm to a defender.

But it just might have been the last match of his nine-year Real Madrid career as he reportedly looks for a pay rise of £7m a year to take him up to £25m a year.

Two woeful errors from goalkeeper Loris Karius contributed to Liverpool's defeat as Karim Benzema and a brace from Gareth Bale ensured victory for Los Blancos.

"In the next few days I'll give the fans an answer because they are the ones who have always been by my side, " Ronaldo said.

Former Reds goalkeeper Ray Clemence said Karius would have to live with his mistakes "for the rest of his life".

'We were here, unfortunately we lost, but I think we need to take this to next season and make sure we do even better than we did this year'.

Liverpool have had a stunning season in the Champions League and nobody thought they could get to the final. "I don't know why he has said that, but we respect him". Bale had been on the pitch for a matter of minutes when Marcelo played the ball in from the left wing, Bale turned and while moving away from goal produced a spectacular overhead kick which nestled in the top corner.

And while there were inevitable tears in the Liverpool camp, Real's players were understandably exultant as they celebrated a truly momentous achievement under the guidance of Zinedine Zidane. It worked a treat and this Real team will go down in history.

With the club teammates including Sergio Ramos asking Ronaldo to explain his comments, the Real No. 7 said admitted that he spoke at the wrong time.

Brilliant Bale breaks Liverpool hearts "I spoke when I shouldn't have done but something is going to happen".

One wrote: "The people who are tweeting Loris Karius saying they hope he dies are not Liverpool fans; they're disgusting human beings".
