Authorities did not initially identify the Federal Bureau of Investigation agent because he was not arrested at the time, Denver police community resource officer Marika Putnam said. The district attorney's office said in a statement investigators are still awaiting the tests to determine Bishop's blood alcohol content at the time of the incident, and additional charges may be pending.

But as Bishop performs a backflip, a handgun falls from his waistband holster onto the dance floor.

It went off as he picked it up, injuring another customer in the leg.

Sanders said the field office would fully cooperate with Denver police and prosecutors "as this matter proceeds through the judicial process".

Bishop pounced on the weapon but accidentally squeezed off a single round.

Bishop was showing off his moves in the center of a dance circle at Mile High Spirits bar on June 2 when he launched into a back handspring.

The injured man, 24-year-old Tom Reddington, suffered a "serious, but not life-threatening" gunshot wound to his lower leg, McCann said.

Bishop is not assigned to the Denver office but works out of Washington, sources told KUSA. "Then it clicked that I've been shot".

"But when I saw him do a backflip, I couldn't help but laugh", Reddington told ABC News' Good Morning America.

"It is shocking that the only shooting to ever occur at our establishment came about as a result of an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent entering our distillery tasting room carrying a loaded firearm without our knowledge, in violation of our rules", the bar said, adding later: "We are deeply saddened by the events that occurred and look forward to speaking with representatives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, so we can come to understand his presence and his need to be armed in our establishment". "The whole team at Mile High Spirits is praying for the victim's quick recovery, and he's welcome at Mile High Spirits to enjoy complimentary drinks forever".
