"Terence would just get that odd shot, just that little bit more".

Horn has struggled to make weight previously but his camp was supremely confident about his preparation, saying he was in the best shape of his life and woke up needing to lose only 1kg on Saturday. The fight was never close, as Crawford staggered Horn with a straight left hand from a southpaw stance nearly immediately, setting the tone for a night where Horn's toughness and courage would be commended but his ring skills wouldn't.

Crawford dominated, dropped and stopped Horn in the ninth round of their title bout that headlined an ESPN+ card in Las Vegas.

Saturday night marks the return to the boxing ring for WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn, and he aims to make another successful defense of the title he won from Manny Pacquiao.

It was a complete domination by Crawford from the start of the fight, switching stances and landing numerous hard left hands to knock Horn off balance throughout the fight.

In the five years since I first met him at Pallara State School where the Fighting Schoolteacher was trying to keep the lid on a gaggle of boisterous nine-year-olds, I have never seen him in a bad mood, never heard him raise his voice, never heard him badmouth anyone.

The fight wrapped up a insane week with Horn almost getting stripped of his title on the scales on June 8.

With the win, Crawford added the WBO welterweight belt to his ever-growing collection of world titles. Horn, who suffered a small cut over his right eye in the fourth round, had no answers for anything, and it didn't get much better.

"I've been wearing them gloves all my career and this is the first time I've had anybody complain about them. The referee was right there and was probably doing the best thing by the fighter". Effortlessly, Crawford absorbed the hard-charging Horn the entire fight, while dodging the big blows and countering effectively to wear down his opponent. From there on out, it only got uglier for Horn, as Crawford continually landed jab after jab, gassing the Australian native and keeping him off-balance.

"His future is unlimited".

"I wasn't stressed as I knew this is exactly what their team wanted". "And that to me is a great, great compliment because I always thought that Leonard was the best". Horn, who defeated Manny Pacquiao in July 2017 in a controversial win, lasted nine rounds against his opponent, getting heavily outmatched through a lot of them.

Horn manhandled Pacquiao at times in their 12-rounder on his way to winning a controversial unanimous decision July 2 at Suncorp Stadium. Last August, the Omahan became the third undisputed champion in the four-belt era when he KO'd fellow unified titlist Julius Indongo in Lincoln.

Crawford also explained that Horn did not offer any surprises in the ring.
