Dukes of Hazzard star John Schneider, who played Bo Duke on the famous series that ran from 1979 through 1985, was sentenced to three days in jail for failing to pay his estranged wife, Elvira Castle, alimony. As we reported, John was given a March deadline to pay up more than $150,000.

The actor and singer was booked in to a jail in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday morning. He will serve three days behind bars.

He claimed that he couldn't afford the payments after losing the majority of his money when his Louisiana movie studio was destroyed by floods in March 2016.

'Hopefully this is evidence of that. At the time, the judge reportedly ordered John to transfer his Apple Valley property to Elvira and to resolve the property's tax liens.

Elvira filed for divorce in Los Angeles county on November 14, 2014, after 21 years of marriage.

Schneider was sentenced on Monday after a judge gave him a month to get his finances in order and pay up back in February.

She cited irreconcilable differences in the divorce filing. They have three children together, two of which were Castle's children from a previous marriage.

Castle in her divorce petition seeking spousal report stated that she was a stay at home mother throughout their marriage and did not have the skills to compete in the modern workforce.
