LeBron James gets 'MVP' ovation in likely Cleveland farewell

Durant won his second title and second NBA Finals Most Valuable Player award, the power forward scoring a career playoff high 43 points in game three. All around them were Draymond Green and Andre Iguodala and a succession of Warriors who ran around and harassed Cleveland's shooters enough to make life hard.

The complaints came from members of the media, players (past and current), and a oodles of "fans". It's just that's the talent we have, and that's the experience we've gained.

The Cavs, predictably, turned up the physicality to begin the game, bullying the smaller Warriors in the post, dominating the boards (a 47-37 rebound advantage), and playing more balanced beyond the expected heroics of LeBron James. Nothing could be further from the truth.

Kevin Durant says he will stay, Stephen Curry is enjoying the success and the Golden State Warriors appear set for a solid run next year at their fourth National Basketball Association crown in five seasons.

"Even more impressive, perhaps, was the Cavs" work on defence. In 2014, he made massive headlines again by returning to Cleveland - and fulfilling his promise to bring a championship to the city in 2016. But those who are complaining and ascribing a larger value to the Warriors' dominance are failing to see the big picture.

"There are so many things that can happen".

The Warriors are at another level.

"Obviously this year he's shown he can get to the Finals no matter what the circumstances are".

And that massive, "unfair" talent advantage the Warriors have been accused of having? Others will wait for a more opportune time, a few years from now.

This is the challenge, then, for the rest of the league. "Then he has to go through Houston and Golden State". After all, that's what he has been tasked to do - literally - by team owner Joe Lacob.

Love, 29, averaged 17.6 points and 9.3 rebounds per game this season and boasted his best shooting season in Cleveland as he hit 45.8 percent of his attempts from the field and 41.5 percent from three-point range. "I don't need to be entertained". That's all it is.

"The fact that they got here surprised me, frankly". To Myers, it seems so precarious. "There's a sense of pride around those things", Curry said.

"You have to stay as young as you can", Myers said.

The Finals championship is between one Eastern and one Western Conference team.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers expects swift negotiations to re-sign two-time reigning NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant and coach Steve Kerr.

Los Angeles has been seen as a favorable landing spot for James for about a year now.

Despite the Warriors' superior dominance, they navigated a hard journey. They can make plays. The NBA Finals follow the league's regular season. They can offer James a five-year contract worth 35% of the salary cap, with 8% raises each season, whereas any opposing team can only give him four-year deals with 5% increases.
