It wasn't a gold ring, but a trailer for a new VR game.

Transference was announced today at Ubisoft's E3 conference as a VR game that is a collaboration between Ubisoft and Spectrevision. He introduced the game with the ominous words, "Have you ever dreamed of exploring someone else's consciousness, exploring their deep dark thoughts?"

The first person exploration game will focus on Raymond Hayes and his experiments with collecting brain data from subjects, which happen to be from himself and members of his family. Doesn't sound much like Super Mario Brothers, does it?

Are you ready to be "plunged into the experiment of a troubled scientist", as the official description has it? Go hands-on to search for clues, solve puzzles and discover the corrupted consciousness of a family.

Yep, that doesn't look scary at all. At least it's not a VR game. oh wait, it is. Pass the laudanum, please.

Transference will be launching for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in autumn 2018.

Elijah Wood took to the stage during Ubisoft's E32018 presentation to speak to the audience about upcoming virtual reality (VR) title, the mind-bending, psychological story of Transference. It is set to launch this fall.
