Wolves have completed the signing of striker Raul Jimenez on loan from Benfica.

A native of Tepeji, Mexico, Jimenez will wear El Tri's No.9 jersey at the World Cup.

Meanwhile, striker Benik Afobe, 25, has moved to Championship side Stoke - just 11 days after joining Wolves.

The forward joined Atletico Madrid from Club America in 2014 but, as at Benfica, struggled for regular starts in his sole season in Spain.

He has scored 18 goals in 80 league appearances, although 60 of those have come from the bench.

Jimenez, 27, has scored 14 goals in 62 games for Mexico and is part of their World Cup squad in Russian Federation.

Jimenez started only six of his 33 league appearances for Benfica last season, scoring six times, and will now seal his move subject to worldwide clearance and a work permit.

Jimenez has also featured in 22 Champions League appearances and was part of Mexico's gold-winning football squad at the 2012 Olympics in London.
