Angelo Mathews and Lahiru Gamage will be taking an early flight back home to Sri Lanka following the Test deafeat against Jason Holder's men at Port of Spain in Trinada.

Batsman Dasun Shanaka, who last played a Test against Bangladesh in February, and all-rounder Danushka Gunathilaka will be flown out as replacements later on Wednesday - but it is unlikely the duo will be available for the start of the St Lucia Test.

Replacements will be flown out, but they are nearly certain to be unavailable for the second Test, given the length of the flights.

Thankfully for Sri Lanka, they had taken the precaution of carrying 17 players, rather than the usual 15, on tour.

Sri Lanka have Dhananjaya de Silva and Mahela Udawatta to replace Mathews. Mathews withdrew due to a "personal reason", it added.

Gamage's injury, meanwhile, was sustained on the the fifth morning in Port-of-Spain, when he was hit in the glove by Shannon Gabriel.

Sri Lanka have suffered a double setback ahead of the Sky Live second Test against Windies.
