And now the company has announced the Vivoactive 3 Music ($300), which adds built-in music to the Vivoactive 3 ($250).

"Music can be a huge motivating component of any workout or activity, and we're excited to give our customers the ability to ditch their phones and listen to their favorite songs right from their wrist", said Dan Bartel, Garmin vice president of global consumer sales.

After all, Garmin ensures that the Vivoactive 3 Music comes with all of the features that launched with last year's model, and the list is extensive.

The Vivoactive 3 Music has a pretty complete set of features: onboard storage for 500 songs, although they have to be sideloaded from a computer, much like the Fitbit Ionic and Versa; iHeartRadio and upcoming Deezer support for music synced from a phone; Garmin Pay contactless payments; Global Positioning System; and up to a seven-day battery life (5 hours with Global Positioning System on). Deezer is given as an example of one such service, but apparently support for this is coming soon rather than being available now.

The Vivoactive 3 Music will set you back £299.99, making it an extra £20 for the luxury of music support over the Vivoactive 3.

Speaking of music, Garmin's latest offers on-device storage for up to 500 songs. It has Global Positioning System, a heart-rate sensor and built-in Bluetooth to connect to your favorite pair of wireless running headphones. You can also transfer music directly from your computer to the watch.

It's safe for swimming and showering, Garmin says, and features a battery life of up to seven days in smartwatch mode or five hours in Global Positioning System with music mode.

There is some tweaking the design department with a glossier, chemically strengthened glass finish, which sees a departure change from the metallic look featured on the Vivoactive 3. It features on-device music storage, so you can bring your tunes along for every workout. You can order it today for $300.
