White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow will remain in the hospital as he recovers from a heart attack that occurred Monday, the administration says.

Presidential spokeswoman Sarah Sanders quoted doctors at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center as saying that "Larry's recovery is going very well".

His doctors expect Larry will make a full and speedy recovery.

"The President and the Administration are happy Larry is back home and look forward to seeing him back to work soon", Sanders added.

The President had broken the news of the heart attack via his Twitter account just moments before his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

For five years before his White House appointment in March, Kudlow hosted a CNBC show on business and politics.

Kudlow said he is "in accord" with Trump's agenda and his team at the White House would help implement the policies set by the president.

The White House has described the cardiac event as "very mild". On Sunday, Kudlow said on CNN's "State of the Union" that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau "really kind of stabbed us in the back" after criticizing USA tariffs on imported steel and aluminum and Trump's positions on trade in a news conference following the summit.
