Mystery has surrounded his shock exit since it was announced on last night's show with bosses staying tight-lipped about what prompted the young construction worker to leave.

In fact, sources claiming to be friends of the popular islander tell the Sun they 'can't get hold of him'.

Alex meanwhile added: "I'm obviously sad that Niall's left the Villa".

When contacted for comment by The Bite, an ITV spokesperson said: "Niall has left the villa for personal reasons and will not be returning to the show".

It might just be that Love Island life wasn't for him and so he made a decision to leave, we'll just have to wait and see what other drama unfolds.

Following the announcement his partner in the villa, Georgia Steel, said: 'Obviously I was coupled up with him so obviously I came closer to him than most people in here but it wasn't just that.

Another added: "I actually really rate Laura now, love how she went in on Adam for the girls".

Taken aback by his sudden departure, Dr Alex admitted Niall will be missed by all as he reiterated how much of a "great guy" he is.

"Let's go for the one who looks like a prostitute because I'll get my dick wet faster".

The reality star was the first boy into this year's villa and was instantly paired up with Kendall Rae-Knight, 26, who became the first Islander dumped from the series last Friday.

ITV have also revealed they "have no current plans" for Niall to appear on spin-off show Aftersun with Caroline Flack.

But it wasn't meant to be for the duo when Niall was left devastated when she was stolen by Adam Collard, 22.

This year's series kicked off on June 4 - and if you're going to survive the summer, understanding the world of Love Island is now a pre-requisite.
