However, Capcom has since confirmed that both HUNK and Tofu, as well as their respective game modes, will be returning for the remake. Perhaps the biggest change is the switch to an over-the-shoulder camera, like the one used in Resident Evil 4, as opposed to the fixed camera angles seen in the PS1-era Resident Evil games. According to Capcom, the genre-defining masterpiece is completely rebuilt from the ground up for a deeper narrative experience.

Resident Evil 2, one of the most beloved horror games ever made, is finally receiving the modern-day remake that fans have been clamoring for ever since Capcom's exceptional remake of the original Resident Evil. Along with the announcement was a new trailer that can be seen above. The final game will once again have separate campaigns for Leon and Claire Redfield, just like the original. After encountering a bitten police officer, I had to solve a strangely obscure medallion puzzle (Resident Evil has a knack for those) in order to open up a hidden exit and escape the police station.

Of course, much has changed since Resident Evil 2 made its PlayStation debut, and the remake of Resident Evil 2 reflects many of those changes. To this day it has retained it's title as the best selling single platform game.

Over four years in the making, the RE4 HD Project improves the original game's textures, lighting-its new dynamic lighting and shadows look particularly nice here-UI, character models, items and more. Let us know in the comment section below!

Resident Evil 2 remake launches for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on 29th January 2019.
