Hardwick gained attention as host of AMC's "Talking Dead", a talk-show companion to its "The Walking Dead" drama series. "While we assess the situation, "Talking with Chris Hardwick" will not air on AMC, and Chris has made a decision to step aside from moderating planned AMC and BBC America panels at Comic-Con International in San Diego next month".

"We have had a positive working relationship with Chris Hardwick for many years", reads the AMC statement released Saturday.

The investigation comes after actress and cosplayer Dykstra, 29, wrote an online post in which she said she was abused by an ex-boyfriend.

In an essay posted Thursday on Medium, Dykstra described her nearly three-year relationship with an older celebrity who she said imposed strict rules on her behavior.

She claimed he quickly began displaying "controlling behaviour", including not letter her speak in public, keeping her evenings free to spend with him and getting rid of close male friends. He was a prince.

Hardwick has now responded to Dykstra's allegations in a statement to People.

When cameras were on us?

He told Deadline: "Our three-year relationship was not ideal - we were ultimately not a good match and argued, even shouted at each other - but I loved her and did my best to uplift and support her as a partner and companion in any way and at no time did I sexually assault her".

"When we were living together, I found out that Chloe cheated on me, and I ended the relationship". I was blindsided by her post and always wanted the best for her. "As a husband, a son, and future father, I do not condone any kind of mistreatment of women".

It said Hardwick's contract expired in December 2017 and he no longer has any affiliation with Nerdist or Legendary's digital media division. Its employees were shocked at the contents of Dysktra's post, the company said. He was set to moderate two panels here, one for AMC and another BBC America, which had him hosting the ever-popular "Doctor Who" panel. It sounds like NBC will also be similarly assessing the situation as the network released a statemtn saying, "We are continuing to assess the situation and will take appropriate action based on the outcome". However, we take allegations of misconduct very seriously. "I was heartbroken to read Chloe's post", he said. I'm overwhelmed and I want to thank all of you for your support and kind words - they mean so much to me.
