Elon Musk Claims Employee Sabotage at Tesla in Midnight Memo

Musk sent Tesla staff an email on Friday night congratulating them on the progress they have made with vehicle production, but added "radical improvements" are necessary to meet the company's quarterly target.

"The full extent of his actions are not yet clear, but what he has admitted to so far is pretty bad", Musk wrote in the email, according to Electrek and CNBC. However, Tesla's stock price has rallied almost 17 percent since the company's June annual shareholder meeting where Musk promised profitability in the third quarter. While a spokesman declined to comment, an employee who asked not to be identified confirmed he received the email. He said Tesla will continue its investigation this week to determine if the employee was acting alone or "if he was working with any outside organizations".

He then warned of enemies who might want to do Tesla harm.

In a separate memo sent Monday, Musk reportedly told employees that a small fire on a production line at Tesla's Fremont, California, factory halted production for several hours. He named Wall Street short-sellers, oil and gas companies and other automakers.

The Prince of Wales was annoyed that people had been "poking fun at him" about his concern for the environment, said Kimbal Musk, 45.

Last week, Tesla announced it was cutting more than 3,000 employees - about 9 percent of its workforce - in an effort to become profitable. Tesla built about 2,000 vehicles in the final week of the first quarter. His latest prediction for when Tesla will rebound comes at the same time that the company will report delivery and production numbers. In an annual shareholders meeting earlier this month, Musk stated that it was "quite likely" that Tesla would hit their Model 3 production rate of 5,000 cars a week "by the end of this month".

While hosting the multinational's board member Kimbal Musk and his fiancée at Dumfries House in Scotland, Charles test drove a £73,350 black Tesla Model S.
