The 31-year old actor, known for playing the iconic role of Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO show, took to Instagram to bid adieu to the popular series on which she has worked since its premiere in 2011. And that includes the one and only Mother of Dragons.

She didn't give anything away with a behind the scenes or in-costume photo - she's way too sly for that at this point - choosing instead to post a casual photo of herself laying in a bed of flowers.

"Hopped on a boat to an island to say goodbye to the land that has been my home away from home for nearly a decade", Clarke captioned a photo of her lying in a field of flowers. "It's been a trip @gameofthrones thank you for the life I never dreamed I'd be able to live and the family I'll never stop missing". She finished the post with a broken heart emoji and the hashtag #lastseasonitis. Her pairing with Jason Momoa's Khal Drogo is one of the OTPs (One True Pairing) in GoT fandoms.

"Sweet words. Love you and HOLY balls".

"It's been the best. Ever. And you've been incredible".

"It f-ed me up", she told Vanity Fair last month. "Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavour in someone's mouth of what Daenerys is..."

She added, "I'm doing all this weird shit". I'm not crying, you're crying. I think that they don't even trust us.
