Zara Tindall Has Welcomed a New Royal Baby Girl

Zara Tindall, the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth, has given birth to her second daughter, Buckingham Palace said on Tuesday, the monarch's seventh great-grandchild.

She gave birth to a daughter on Monday with her husband Mike Tindall, a former English rugby player, present for the birth, Buckingham Palace said in a statement tonight.

Zara's father and mother are Captain Mark Phillips and Princess Anne.

Congratulations are in order for Zara Tindall and her husband Mike who have welcomed their second baby today, a girl!

"The weight of the baby was 9lb 3oz". The baby's name will be confirmed in due course.

Opening up about the devastating loss a year ago, Mike told The Sunday Times: 'One thing you do learn is how many other people have had to go through the same.

The announcement comes two years after Zara tragically suffered a miscarriage in December 2016, one month after the couple announced Zara's pregnancy. "The saving grace for us has been Mia... however down we feel, she will come running up in our faces".

'When I was playing I hardly saw her; now we can see her grow up. I can take her swimming and I can take her to Ninja Tots.

The palace says the queen and other senior royals are "delighted with the news".

The royal couple met in 2003 and announced their engagement in 2010, before getting married in 2011.
