Netflix has your Labor Day weekend plans sorted. The show that paired Laura Linney and Jason Bateman in many, many dark scenes-as in visually dark-is nearly back. In season 1, Bateman's character "bumps heads with both a local drug dealer whose business he inadvertently interrupts, and a clan of ruffians, led by their 19-year-old niece, who want his money, all the while avoiding the eye of a tenacious Federal Bureau of Investigation agent". But it certainly won't be easy.

Netflix has released the first teaser for the new season, and it opens with Linney's Wendy telling her husband Marty, "We've done a lot of things, things that we said we would never do". Despite the fact that Del (Esai Morales) is now out of the picture, the Byrdes' crime syndicate enemies aren't giving up, sending their cutthroat attorney Helen Pierce (Marvel's Jessica Jones actress Janet McTeer) the family's way to further flip their world inside out.

And boy, are the Brydes going to face some serious consequences in season 2. Both Marty and his wife Wendy take up jobs in the lake town, with Marty as a lakeside hotel owner (and later a strip club owner) and Wendey as a realtor, in order to continue laundering money.

"So that's it. We go back in that house, we go to bed, we wake up in the morning, we kiss the kids?" a clearly distraught Linney asks Marty. Marty and Wendy struggle to balance their family interests amid the escalating dangers presented by their partnerships with the power-hungry Snells, the cartel and their new deputy, Ruth Langmore, whose father Cade has been released from prison.
