Celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain had no hard narcotics in his body when he took his own life, it has been revealed.

"No trace of narcotics, no trace of any toxic products, no trace of medicines, no trace of alcohol", prosecutor Christian de Rocquigny told Reuters.

US celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain, who killed himself in a French hotel room earlier this month, had no narcotics or alcohol in his body when he died, a local prosecutor said on Friday.

Bourdain hung himself inside a hotel bathroom in Kaysersberg, a small village in the Alsace region of France.

Bourdain was cremated in France shortly after his death, and according to his mother, Gladys Bourdain, family and friends will soon hold a private ceremony in her son's honor. She shared, "He would want as little fuss as possible". She told the New York Times that although she didn't like her son's tattoos, she'll be visiting his tattoo artist to get "Tony" tattooed in "small letters" on the inside of her wrist.

Kimberly Witherspoon, Bourdain's longtime agent who said she was authorized to speak for Bourdain's wife, Ottavia Bourdain, said there are no plans for a public memorial.
