Actors Kit Harington and Rose Leslie, who played on-screen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte in fantasy TV saga "Game of Thrones", are to Wednesday in Britain today.

Fans of the show gathered outside 900-year-old Wardhill Castle in northeast Scotland, where the two British actors are due to Wednesday Saturday.

The couple met while filming the fantasy saga in 2012 and played on-screen lovers Jon Snow and Ygritte.

A date of June 23 was previously posted at Aberdeenshire's Huntly registration office.

They announced their engagement in the London Times previous year and are expected to marry at Wardhill Castle.

"If you're already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love".

He added: "It's an absolutely lovely day for us".

Leslie left the cast two years after they met, while Harington has appeared in every series of the popular TV drama, becoming one of the show's biggest stars.

Harington told L'Uomo Vogue that the on-screen romance contributed to the pair getting together, after filming in Iceland in 2012.

"Because the country is handsome, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love", he recalled.

Leslie said she had been too busy to plan the wedding, telling Town & Country magazine: "I haven't tackled it".
