Although Deadline does not specify any connection to either universe, The Wrap reports Silk would connect to Sony's other Spider-Man related films such as Venom or the in-development Silver and Black.

After Sam Raimi's original take on the character and Andrew Garfield's stint as the web slinger, Spider-Man fans might have felt that a little bit of Spidey-fatigue was setting in after hearing the news that the character was going to be rebooted again with Tom Holland playing the beloved character.

The accidental name slip for the new title was similar to his "accidental" Infinity War poster reveal. However, while Peter lived a double life as Spider-Man, Cindy didn't become Silk until much later, after living for decades in a bunker set up by her one-time mentor, Ezekiel Sims.

Later, during a Q&A panel at ACE Comic Con in Seattle, Kevin Smith, the panel host brought up the incident where Holland confirmed the title.

What do you think of the Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel title? The series will continue Marvel and Sony's collaboration which allows the character to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, despite the studio not owning its rights.

Confirming the globetrotting nature of Homecoming 2, Marvel chief Kevin Feige had said during Infinity War promotions that the film will be partially shot in London. The primary antagonist will be played by Jake Gyllenhaal. "We film in London". The film has been scheduled for a July 5, 2019 release.
