Jack Wilshere on West Ham's radar after Arsenal exit

Mesut Ozil has paid tribute to Jack Wilshere following the midfielder's decision to leave the North London club earlier this week.

Wilshere is appealing given that he is available on a free transfer having left Arsenal, but with his injury history and his wage demands, West Ham may even look elsewhere for midfield reinforcements yet.

The idea would be for him to spend a season there proving his fitness and his ability to fit into their long-term plans, with the option of extending the deal should all go well.

However, the 29-year-old is now in Russian Federation with the Argentina squad so any potential move will have to wait until the South American returns from World Cup duty but it looks like Banega could be our fourth major signing of the summer.

Many clubs, including Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Wolverhampton Wanderers, as well as Fenerbahce and Inter Milan, are said to be interested in the player, but United have now seemingly emerged as favourites for his signature.

A bonus for United would be that the Englishman is a free agent, following two seasons of the club spending big money on signings such as Paul Pogba, Romelu Lukaku, Alexis Sanchez and Nemanja Matic.
