Jack Wilshere has admitted that he is "willing to go abroad" as he weighs up his options after leaving Arsenal as a free agent.

The 26-year-old confirmed he would leave the north London club, where he has played since 2001, a week ago and was on Arsenal's released list on Friday, which included Santi Cazorla and defender Per Mertesacker - who was offered a coaching role at the end of last season. I am not really in any rush, today [Saturday] is actually my last day with my contract at Arsenal, so it's been a bit of a odd day.

Quizzed by Sky Sports News on whether he could leave English shores this summer, Wilshere said: "I am willing to go overseas if the right opportunity comes up".

Juventus play in the Champions League and win Serie A year after year, while Milan are one of the biggest clubs in the world, and the two Italian clubs could be very tempting to Wilshere, especially as he is open to playing outside the Premier League.

'But everyone knows I like the Premier League and the battle here.

"It is literally the best thing that comes up and the best opportunity that we will take".

'We are looking at things and I'm keeping myself fit so if something comes up I'm ready to go'.

Wilshere has been linked with a number of clubs with Fenerbahce reportedly the latest club vying for his signature.

West Ham, Everton, Crystal Palace, Wolves and Fulham have all been credited with holding an interest, but the in-demand talent insists he will not be rushing into a future call.

'It's a good opportunity for me to rest, reflect on my life and what I want.

'We've still got some time and things happen after the World Cup so we will see. I'm not putting a deadline on it'.
