FBN's Deirdre Bolton, Vision 4 Funds Distributor Vice President Heather Zumarraga and Fox News contributor James Freeman discuss the June jobs report.

The rate of USA employees quitting their jobs reached its highest rate in 17 years, rising from 2.3 percent in April to 2.4 percent in May, when 3.56 million Americans left their jobs.

Some 3.56 million workers left positions in May, the most in data back to 2000, and up from the prior month's 3.35 million, Labor Department data showed Tuesday.

Commenting on the latest report, Bankrate.com's senior economic analyst, Mark Hamrick, said, "In the latest JOLTS report from the Labor Department, we see that the total number of job openings in the USA has slipped from the revised high of 6.8 million reported for the previous month". Even so, this remains quite strong. In another bullish sign, the gap between vacancies and the number of unemployed widened to 573,000 in May, a sign there's potentially work available for every jobless person in America.
