The Liverpool FC midfielder is now on duty with his national team in Russian Federation as he bids to try and help the Three Lions win the World Cup for the first time since 1966.

Understandably engulfed by the World Cup like the rest of the nation, Stokes and Co thought they would give penalties a go during their training session at Trent Bridge ahead of this evening's semi-final with Croatia.

France and Belgium will face off in the other last-four clash on Tuesday in Saint Petersburg.

England advanced to the semifinal with a 2-0 victory over Sweden on Saturday while Croatia overcame Russian Federation in a penalty shootout.

Capello struggled to find a goalkeeper he trusted during his England reign, famously dropping former West Ham 'keeper Rob Green after he made a massive error in the opening game of the 2010 World Cup, and he has hailed the performances of the current number one Jordan Pickford.

Asked if he has spoken to Klopp at all, Henderson told BBC Sport prior to beating Sweden: "Yeah [regular contact] after games normally, and he's so happy".

England batsman Jason Roy however could not repeat his captain's feat and fluffed his lines - let's just say the pressure got to him.

Meanwhile, Liverpool FC began their pre-season campaign on Saturday with a 7-0 thrashing of Chester.
