"It's Coming Home" has been the mantra of England fans, and sometimes even the players, for the last month and supporters were excitedly dreaming of taking on France in the final.

He also added: "You were talking about the final".

Republic of Ireland assistant boss made it clear that he was not impressed with former England striker Wright as he was "getting carried away" with the prospect of Gareth Southgate's side going all the way to the World Cup final, when they were still playing in the group stages of the competition.

At full-time, with the score deadlocked at 1-1, England looking to be lagging, and extra-time looming, the former Irish captain found his opportunity to wreak havoc.

Keane believe Wright and fellow former England internationals Lee Dixon and Gary Neville took the Croatians too lightly before the game - and clearly was agitated in the aftermath by their jokey manner. On about the final, football's coming home...'

'I know England may have thought it was a bit tongue and cheek a few weeks ago, but you've got to focus on just one game at a time. He reckoned everyone was already planning for the final after England went further than they had ever done in a World Cup since 1990.

England are out of the World Cup and Roy Keane is reminding everyone when they should be happy. "We were just having a laugh with you", Wright said in his famous London accent. Take it one game as it comes.

'Get excited when they get to the final.

"The fact is we were happy, and you weren't happy with us being happy". You know how hard it is to get to these finals or even get to the World Cup.

Keane did credit the English players for their efforts in reaching the semis but reserved his highest praise for the victors, Croatia.

You've got to be aware of it and deal with it yourself.
