Elon Musk Calls Diver in Thai Soccer Team Rescue a Pedophile

A British cave explorer who recently helped rescue 12 boys and their soccer coach from a Thailand cave network slammed Elon Musk's child-sized submarine proposal as a "PR stunt". "We designed the mini-sub to Stanton's specifications *and* brought a flexible rescue pod just in case".

Mr Unsworth said Mr Musk's efforts to help rescue the boys was just a "PR stunt".

Musk's final tweet in the thread referred to Unsworth as "pedo guy".

Musk tweeted that his engineers had been working on a mini submarine to aid rescue workers at the Tham Luang cave in northern Thailand.

Doctors say the boys are in good health following a successful three-day operation which ended on July 10, when teams of Thai Navy SEALs and global cave diving experts hauled the last five members of the team to safety.

"He had no conception of what the cave passage was like". The submarine was about five foot six [inches] long, rigid, so it wouldn't have gone 'round corners or 'round any obstacles. "And so he should have been", he said.

He also released details of an email exchange with a member of the dive team who encouraged him to "please keep working on the capsule", saying that it "may well be used" if heavy rains in the area continued to cause problems.

Another one of the divers who helped rescue the boys, Australian diver Craig Challen, told ABC.net.au that he didn't know if everyone would make it out alive.

"Never saw this British expat guy who lives in Thailand (sus) at any point when we were in the caves", Musk tweeted, later adding: "Sorry pedo guy, you really did ask for it". Checked with dive team many times to confirm it was worthwhile. "Something's messed up if this is not a good thing".
