New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has told Mesut Ozil he will be loved again at the club after a hard season and a calamitous World Cup for Germany.

The 29-year-old was subject to widespread criticism for the role he played for both the Gunners and Germany last season, but after penning a contract extension earlier this year Emery is confident the midfielder will become a key player under his tutelage at the Emirates.

'The manager spoke to me about the position, ' Chambers told Arsenal's official website of his new role.

Unai Emery was appointed as Arsenal's manager in May and the board gave him an amount of £70million to spend on transfers and he has already spent more than that even though one of the signings came for free so they manager might not sign more players since there's no money. "But it's a position I feel like I can grow to enjoy".

'It's an important position.

'Obviously you can't do it all the time, you can't take risks and when it's not on you can bounce it backwards at an angle for someone else to play through the lines. But if you can get on it and you have time and it's not a risk, turn and play forward and that's the best way to get through a press.

"My idea is to know every player and to know, also, the personality of the players". Mesut is on holiday and I want him to be calm, then when he comes back to start hard'.

Chambers joined Arsenal from Southampton in the summer of 2014 and has gone on to make over 80 appearances in all competitions.
