Heavy, though widely scattered, thunderstorms on Tuesday, accompanied by gusty winds, will usher in a cooler, more comfortable weather pattern.

One more day of heat and humidity remains until we see changes to the forecast.

Today we'll have the chance of spotty showers/storms all day although it's possible we may get a break from mid morning to early afternoon. Highs in the upper 80s.

Today. Mostly cloudy. Showers/storms likely.

Some of us would welcome the rain because while there have been areas that have seen an excess of rain with hit or miss storms so far this summer, others have largely missed out and have become rather dry of late.

Tuesday is not a washout but I do think many cities & towns (especially west of I-95) will get tagged by rain in some fashion. Otherwise, it's going to be a warm and muggy night with overnight lows in the mid 70s. The cloud cover and the rain will prevent highs from rising back into the 90s this afternoon.

Monday will start out partly cloudy with a chance for storms after 2 p.m.as the temperatures climbs to a high of around 88 degrees. The chance of thunderstorms will continue until Thursday night, forecasters said. A few showers will be possible, but much of the area will temporarily dry out by Monday morning's commute.
