Another shows him trying to convince Bernie Sanders of a nonsensical plan to make everyone the 1%.

"There has been widespread misinformation over the past week about the character of Billy Wayne Ruddick Jr., Ph.D., performed by Sacha Baron Cohen on the Showtime comedy series 'Who Is America?'" the statement read. If you want to watch Sacha Baron Cohen's surreal new tv experience "Who Is America" on Showtime, you'll need to pay for a subscription, or at least keep very close tabs on your 30 day free trial.

In the first episode, Ruddick, as portrayed by Cohen, says he uses a mobility scooter to "conserve" his body's "finite energy".

Sacha Baron Cohen has duped and angered a handful of notable politicians, like Sarah Palin and Joe Walsh, for his new Showtime series "Who Is America?" that premiered on Sunday. "In both the interview with Governor Palin and the interview with Senator Sanders, he did not wear military apparel of any kind".

On Monday, a conservative street artist replaced a billboard near the CBS Television City complex in a Los Angeles with a doctored image of Cohen in a wheelchair wearing an Army t-shirt.

Ph.D. has been referred to as a disabled veteran in some reports and Sarah Palin credits this information as why she granted an interview for the show. "I sat through a long "interview" full of Hollywoodism's [sic] disrespect and sarcasm - but finally had enough and literally, physically removed my mic and walked out", Palin wrote on Facebook.

Ruddick is one of four characters Cohen created for the new seven-episode series.
