Las Vegas Police have released body camera footage from a wild officer-involved shooting last week.

Police say the officers spotted the suspects in a stolen black SUV about two hours later, and a high-speed chase ensued. The bodycam video shows a Las Vegas police officer in pursuit of a vehicle driven by murder suspects.

Police said Miranda and Nunez both had lengthy criminal pasts and both men were ex-felons.

The other suspect Rene Nunez, 30, was taken into custody after receiving treatment for a gunshot wound. The chase ended when the suspects crashed into the wall of an elementary school.

The other suspect - Miranda - moved to the driver's seat and tried backing up toward Umana, who left his vehicle and continued firing at the SUV. Nunez ran from the auto and tried to hide on school grounds, but was caught a short time later. Police say their preliminary investigation indicates two officers fired their weapons during the course of the incident. "He stuck with that individual knowing what type of individual he was dealing with". "Miranda was declared deceased by medical personnel on scene".

"In my opinion, they show a level of bravery, professionalism, heroics, that we come to expect of our officers", Kelly said.

"The officer could have backed off, but he didn't", Kelly said. Police responded with 32 shots, before they managed to surround the vehicle and arrest the surviving suspect.

He now faces charges of murder with a deadly weapon and attempted murder with a deadly weapon, according to the Review-Journal.

The police officers involved in this pursuit have been placed on routine paid administrative leave.
