Reports today claimed Liverpool had made a £62m bid for the Brazil global, with the goalkeeper agreeing terms with the Reds.

Liverpool have submitted a £62 million offer to Roma for the Brazil worldwide as the club step up their search for a new first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

The £62m bid is slightly short of Roma's £66.6m valuation but both sides are hopeful that an agreement can be reached.

Alisson played five times for Brazil at the World Cup in Russian Federation where his side suffered a quarter-final defeat to Belgium.

If that's not definitive evidence that Alisson is DEFINITELY going to join Liverpool imminently, then I don't know what is.

Real Madrid and Chelsea have also been heavily linked with the 25-year-old, but with Thibaut Courtois' future still up in the air and Real Madrid happy with Keylor Navas, Liverpool are in pole position to land the Brazilian.

According to the same story, the charismatic German head coach has concerns and doubts about Liverpool FC trio Danny Ings, Divock Origi and Daniel Sturridge ahead of the new Premier League campaign.

Simon Mignolet, meanwhile, is expected to leave Anfield this summer after he lost his place to Karius last season.

Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius was back in the spotlight last week after a 3-2 friendly win against Tranmere at Prenton Park saw him spill a free-kick which allowed the hosts to score.

The 25 year old has made over 60 appearances for Roma since joining in 2016, as well as 31 caps for Brazil.
