Described as having a "gritty tone", the film finds Robin Hood returning from The Crusades to discover a Sherwood Forest rife with corruption and evil.

In order to differentiate it from the countless other Robin Hood adaptations, Lionsgate made a decision to go in a decidedly more modern direction for director Otto Bathurst's upcoming movie starring Taron Egerton and Jamie Foxx.

If you pay close attention during the trailer, you will see the famous faces in iconic character roles that we'll be getting in the film.

Lionsgate has treated us to a brand spankin' new trailer for the latest iteration Robin Hood.

In the film, a war-hardened Crusader and a Moorish commander mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English crown in a thrilling action-adventure. Fifty Shades heartthrob Jamie Dornan will play Will Scarlet; Californication actor Tim Minchin will play Friar Tuck; and The Knick's Eve Hewson will play the love interest, Maid Marian. Teaming with a band of outlaws, he takes matters into his own hands to set things right, with very little merry-making along the way.

"Robin Hood" is opening in the prime pre-Thanksgiving release date of November 21, against Disney's "Ralph Breaks the Internet", STX's Jennifer Lopez comedy "Second Act", Universal's comedy-drama "Green Book", and MGM's boxing drama "Creed 2". The producers are Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Davisson, Basil Iwanyk, Tory Tunnell, and Joby Harold.
