Since 2012, the beloved festival has been held on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia, but city Mayor Jim Kenney said this year will be the last time. The Parkway captures the freedom and spirit of inclusivity that drew us to the city of Brotherly Love.

Jay-Z is embroiled in a dispute with the mayoral office of Philadelphia after it announced plans to change the location of his music festival, Made in America.

But the city said the festival is no longer welcome on the parkway after this year.

Nicki Minaj, Meek Mill and Post Malone are set to perform at this year's festival. The rapper said he and his company, Roc Nation, were never consulted over the city's decision and that the move showed "zero appreciation" for the festival. He asks: "How does an administration, merely discard an event that generates millions in income and employs the city's people as if we are disposable now that we have served our goal?"

"We consider this stance a failure on the mayor's part", he continues later on. "Over the years, tourism has grown... and the need for an event of this scale at this location may no longer be necessary".

Jay Z said the minority-owned fest that's included Rihanna, Kanye West and Pearl Jam, has brought $102.8 million to the city, paid $3.4 million in rent and employed thousands.

Made in America was originally meant to attract people to Philadelphia on Labor Day weekend, traditionally a slow time for tourism, said city spokeswoman Sarah Reyes. The city is right, in one respect, the first Made in America festival took place when there was a great need for tourism. Is this an accurate representation of how he and his administration treat partners that economically benefit his city? "We hope to be able to resolve what has been an unfortunate misunderstanding", he said, adding he was "committed to continuing our partnership with the Made in America festival". "Over the years, tourism has grown overall, '" Jay wrote. Our question is, "How do you think that tourism grew, Mayor Kenney?"

The festival "will discuss our options internally and handle accordingly", JAY-Z concludes.
