Momoa shared a short clip of himself atop a cliff somewhere in Hawaii yesterday in which he thanked fans for their support, before jumping off the cliff into the water below, swims down and retrieves a phone which he shows to the camera to reveal "trailer tomorrow".

You know how people in movies are always screaming "ENHANCE" when they're looking at surveillance footage? Since there's a lot to unpack here, we went through and pulled a bevy of screengrabs to offer a much closer look at the new DC film.

It's not too late to change the film's title to Aquadaddy. The film stars Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Willem Dafoe as Vulko, Temuera Morrison as Tom Curry, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm/Ocean Master, and Nicole Kidman as Atlanna.

The film hits cinemas on 21 December, which is shaping up to be a pretty busy day for movies, with the Transformers spin-off Bumblebee and Will Ferrell's new movie Holmes & Watson also being released that day.

This will be the second extended appearance for Momoa as Arthur Curry aka Aquaman, and the first standalone chapter after last year's massively-disappointing DC team-up Justice League, which brought together Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher).
