Cloak and Dagger aren't done saving the day!

Cloak & Dagger, which ranks as the top new cable drama the summer among Freeform's key women 18-34 and 12-34 demos, is set to end it's first season on August 2.

The show is created by Joe Pokaski and, in addition to Joseph and Holt, stars Gloria Reuben, J.D. Evermore, Miles Mussenden, Noëlle Renée Bercy, Andrea Roth, and more. The news comes just as the series is approaching the final 2 episodes of its freshman season.

"Cloak and Dagger" follows Tandy Bowen (Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Joseph) who are two different kids from very different backgrounds but who find themselves burdened by and awakened to newly discovered superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. In the most recent episode, Ty and Tandy went on separate missions to address issues from their pasts; Ty tried to get justice for his brother, who was unjustly shot by a corrupt cop, while Tandy went after the Roxxon Corporation, which tarnished her father's name when he died because of an oil rig explosion.

While details were scarce about where the next season will take its characters, it does give the show a chance to further explore its connections to other Marvel series. In fact, it actually addresses its ties to it, unlike Marvel's Runaways, which airs on Hulu.

Marvel's Cloak & Dagger airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform.

EW is live from Comic-Con 2018!
