On Thursday, right wing Twitter personality Mike Cernovich started posting a series of James Gunn's old tweets, which Gunn soon deleted.

Gunn has been working on the script for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3", and the movie was expected to begin shooting in Atlanta in the fall for an expected 2020 release date, though Marvel Studios had never officially announced the date.

Chris didn't directly reference the controversy, but he tweeted out a bible verse from the book of James that deals with the issue. You can check out the posts from Selma Blair's Twitter account for yourself below.

Gunn's brother Sean Gunn, who also appeared in GOTG, expressed his love in a series of tweets, saying "Since devoting his entire life to the Guardians movies and MCU six years ago, I've seen him channel that voice into his work on those movies and seen him transform from the guy who made up things to shock people..."
