The rumours intensified today as Spanish journalist Kike Marin - who works for newspaper El Confidential - claimed that Arsenal had made an £89.9m [€100m] bid to sign Dembele but he didn't divulge any details on the structure of the deal.

Emery was brought in to replace Arsene Wenger after his 22-year reign ended with a sixth-place finish in the league last season.

"Looking around the dressing room and seeing what other players are being paid, in Arsenal's case the ludicrous contract that they awarded to Mesut Ozil in February, Ramsey might not think he's going to get that level of contract, sees himself as all footballers do when they get the age of 28, think this could be my last major contract".

Jamie Carragher believes Arsenal will win more games this season due to their tactical brilliance rather than attacking flair under Unai Emery.

Goalie Bernd Leno has joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen.

Star strikers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette are also both rested after the summer and looked sharp in pre-season.

"This won't happen in Premier League", Lehmann told Bild when asked if asking if defending champions Manchester City are about to build a Bayern Munich-style dynasty in England.

"If it's not their goal to win the league, why all the changes in the club?"

"A new manager means I don't know what his ideas are, but whatever they are I just want to be part of them". He joins an already prolific attacking collective of the Citizens, who were led by Sergio Aguero's 30 goals in all competitions previous year.

Arsenal's Head of High-Performance Darren Burgess has revealed what head coach Unai Emery most wanted to change about the club (via Fox Sports).
