More specifically, Sony has sold 523.3 million PlayStation systems worldwide (and counting), and what better way to celebrate than to try selling even more with a very special limited edition PS4 Pro!

For starters, the 500 Million Limited Edition features a translucent design in a catching dark blue paint job with matching DualShock 4 controller.

All of the hardware, including the console itself, will go on sale from August 24, with pre-orders starting at most major retailers at 10am Tuesday, August 14. According to the PlayStation blog the PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition release date is August 24 with a price of Euro 499 (roughly Rs. 39,730).

The first ever 2TB PS4 Pro is a special edition console that will only be released in limited numbers later this month.

The controller will also be available separately, alongside a "Gold Wireless Headset 500 Million Limited Edition". (A mono headset is included, as always.) It has a translucent blue shell, with blue power light which lets you see inside, and a commemorative copper plate on the front of the system. The European PlayStation Blog mentions there will be opportunities in win one in that region, but does not offer additional details.

If you want to keep your console but still celebrate the occasion, you can grab a DualShock 4 controller with the same styling as the limited edition console. Like the console, these two accessories will be a dark, translucent blue with copper accents. Actually, combined PSOne, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, PS Vita sales are significantly over 500 million - the brand has moved a whopping 525.3 million units to date. As with the Gold Wireless Headset, it will be sold in limited quantities in early September 2018.
