The Egypt worldwide scored 11 goals to help Jurgen Klopp's side reach the final in Kiev, where he was forced off injured as they lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah will compete with Barcelona's Lionel Messi and Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo for UEFA's award for best Champions League forward, while his new teammate Alisson is up for the top goalkeeper award.

Manchester City were thrashed 5-1 on aggregate by Premier League rivals Liverpool at the quarter-final stage but that has not stopped Kevin De Bruyne being nominated in the best midfielders category.

Marcelo and Ronaldo struck up a partnership on the Real Madrid left flank over the years and Tuttosport claim this is the former's last chance to rekindle that relationship on the pitch.

Goalkeepers: Alisson (Roma, now Liverpool), Gianluigi Buffon (Juventus, now Paris Saint-Germain), Keylor Navas (Real Madrid).

The winners will be announced at the respective Champions League and Europa League group stage draws in Monaco on August 30 and 31.

The nominees were selected by a jury of 32 coaches from last year's Champions League participants and 55 journalists chosen by the European Sports Media group.
