What has seemed inevitable for some time is an actuality.

The Hawks acquired Anthony on July 25 as part of a three-team transaction, with Atlanta also receiving a protected 2022 first-round draft pick from the Thunder and Justin Anderson from the Philadelphia 76ers.

The forward was traded to the Hawks from the Thunder, then the Hawks waived Anthony so he reportedly could sign with the Rockets.

That trade was made in large part because it is slated to save the Thunder almost $73 million in payroll and luxury taxes, according to ESPN front-office insider and former Brooklyn Nets assistant general manager Bobby Marks.

Anthony spent just one season with the Thunder following a trade from the New York Knicks, but playing alongside Russell Westbrook and Paul George he experienced the worst season of his career, averaging just 16.2 points.

Never forget: The Hawks are one of the five National Basketball Association teams (and counting) Anthony represented during his stellar career, and now there's proof.
