Celtic have not responded to the interest of other clubs.

However, the Northern Irishman has downplayed speculation that he could quit in protest over inaction in the transfer market and is still looking to improve his squad as they pursue an eighth league title in a row. I've got a meeting with players at half past 10 concentrating on this game and I said I couldn't meet him before, but I'd meet him after training once I'd done my work.

"I'd read somewhere else about walking away". Despite all reports, there's talk of ultimatums with the board, I don't work that way, my communication is very open, so that's certainly not the case.

Defender Dedryck Boyata missed the defeat to Hearts and has been linked with a move away from the club to either Italy or Spain, but Rodgers remains hopeful that the Belgian will remain at Celtic.

Rodgers has masterminded two consecutive domestic trebles since joining the Glasgow giants, but publicly voiced his frustration at not adding to his squad before a 1-1 draw at home to Greek champions AEK Athens in the Champions League third qualifying round in midweek. All I want is for us to improve every aspect of the club.

"The official offers were left unanswered, sending the message clearly that Celtic did not want to sell the player". Talks were put off in the summer because Dedryk was going to the World Cup and he wanted to see how it would go. "My concentration is on the players who are fit to play".
