Cristiano Ronaldo says it was "an easy decision" to swap life at Real Madrid for that at Juventus, with a €100 million (£89m/$114m) transfer allowing him to fulfil a childhood dream.

The 33-year-old completed a £90m move to Turin from Real Madrid after starring for Portugal at the World Cup.

"Since I was a child, I looked at this team and I hoped one day I could play there", added the Portugal captain.

"It's nice to be here, I'm happy, when I chose to play in Juventus there was not a specific moment", Ronaldo told Juventus TV. "During the years, we played a few times against Juve and I had a special feeling that the Italian supporters like Cristiano". I had never scored a goal like that one, it was really important to me, and I was absolutely amazed about the reaction from Juve fans.

The five-time Ballon d'Or victor was heralded by Juve supporters after he netted a stunning overhead kick goal in the Champions League.

"I remember it every day". When you play the Champions League quarter-finals against Juventus, you can see signs and the whole stadium applauds you, it's incredible!

"It was a lovely feeling". Everyone was on their feet clapping for me, and that made me feel more love for Juve.

"I know Real Madrid well and all that counts, even for Florentino Perez, is the club".

Ronaldo just put his side 3-0 up with one of the greatest goals in the history of the competition and as he wheeled away in celebration, numerous homefans rose to their feet and applauding a rival player out of respect for the brilliance he had just served up. I do not say that it was the [reason for signing] but it helped to see that people appreciated me.

As for his first goal, he said he has not even thought about it.
