Maurizio Sarri's reign as Chelsea manager got off to the best possible start with an eye-catching 3-0 win away at Huddersfield.

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri insists that he is not looking to replicate his Napoli style at Stamford Bridge. That is not a surprise, perhaps, but it doesn't bode well for his chances of much playing time with Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Cesc Fabregas and Mateo Kovacic to come in.

The Terriers, meanwhile, were probably buoyed by the fact that their survival last season was helped by the point they gained against the Blues in their penultimate game of the campaign. "I hope in this month to improve the team".

9 - With the exception of handing Kepa Arrizabalaga a debut in goal, Sarri played it safe with his first league line-up by opting for experienced heads to do his high-press bidding.

And his performances in pre-season, in the Community Shield and against Huddersfield have done very little to convince supporters that he's good enough to lead the line. "The best thing for him was to play 15-20 minutes when the opposition was exhausted". "The first half was hard".

"We were in trouble for 15 minutes against a physical team, we are not a physical team. But then I think the second half the opponents were maybe a bit exhausted, and it was a bit easier".

"I have seen passion, desire, the spirit, which we usually have in our game". He took responsibility for the penalty won by Alonso and the cool, clinical manner in which he scored suggests he may get further opportunities even when regular taker Hazard is on the pitch.

"This was a goal that was easily avoidable because we have spoken about this situation the whole week, how we like to defend, and we have seen we have to be switched on".

After an opening half hour in which Chelsea had more of the ball but were kept at arm's length by a smartly-drilled Huddersfield side, the visitors took the lead with a whiff of fortune.

"[Eden] Hazard is with us".

Kante, back on duty just 27 days after starting France's win over Croatia in the World Cup final, scored the opener, thumping a volley into the ground and past goalkeeper Ben Hamer from a Willian cross. Jorginho will clearly be the key, the expert at quickly shifting the ball that Sarri knows well from Napoli.
