The three-minute trailer tells the story of Mauji (Varun Dhawan) who works as a salesman in a shop that sells sewing machines and his wife Mamta (Anushka Sharma).

In fact, the entire team including director Sharat Katariya and Maneesh Sharma who has produced the film under the banner of Yash Raj Films, was present at the trailer launch event where they spoke about the film at length. Mamta hates to see her husband getting humiliated at work and asks him to start his own business. However, the actress was quickly defended by Virat in another social media post, which slammed the trolls saying: "Lot of people who don't have the courage to do something like this find it amusing". Anushka was mercilessly trolled on Twitter for being the "odd one out" in a photo tweeted by BCCI last week, which was responded with silence on Anushka's part until recently, when the 30-year-old actress told news agency ANI: "Whoever had to make a justification on the activity has made it".

A few days back, the Zero actress was trolled on the social media as the BCCI shared a picture of the Indian cricket team which also included Anushka in it. "Mauji and Mamta are salt of the earth characters and these characters gave our duo the chance to really push themselves as actors", Sharma said. Whatever happened had happened within the guidelines and will always do so. "Let's not make a huge hue and cry of a topic with such little substance".

From the looks of it, Sui Dhaaga has a feel-good, rags-to-riches story. If you're wondering, the film is slated to release on September 28 and also stars Raghubir Yadav in a pivotal role.
