Among the notable games due to be played in front of a national audience are the Lakers' season opener against the Portland Trail Blazers on October 18 (TNT broadcast), James' first game at Staples Center two nights later (ESPN), his first return to Cleveland on November 21 (ESPN) and a Christmas matchup with the Warriors (ABC/ESPN simulcast).

Who will coach Luke Walton name as his starters? What will happen to the development of the young core?

There are many more questions than answers at this point.

Kuzma also disagrees with the notion that James might have to be patient and wait another year to add another star to see the Lakers truly contend while the team's up-and-coming players such as Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, Josh Hart and Kuzma continue to grow. In fact, he thinks the current roster is talented enough to make noise.

"We are both definitely excited about the roster and the pieces that we have", Kuzma told ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk on Tuesday. "And we think that a lot of people are underestimating us. It is definitely going to be fun playing with all these new guys".

"A lot of people say we got a lot of different people, a lot of new people", added Kuzma. It is not necessarily always a bad thing. However, James was able to take the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals one season after they missed the playoffs, and while it was in the Eastern Conference, that is still a great accomplishment.

"I don't know why people kind of just rule us out because we are young", Kuzma said. "We are hungry. We are competitive. Anybody that watched us play past year, we were in a lot of games". When accounting for broadcasts on ABC, ESPN, TNT and NBA TV, the Lakers will be in front of a national audience 43 times. Judging by Kuzma's comments, he already has.
