Thomas Ravenel apparently just bid farewell to Southern Charm.

The 55-year-old reality TV star released a statement on Tuesday announcing his decision to quit.

Ravenel also accused Bravo of taking "advantage" of him. A cast member since season one, today he tweeted that he's "got too much to lose and informed them I'm not coming back".

The surprising news arrived via a tweet from the businessman and politician, who wrote in his private account, "I'm not doing the show anymore". "In the contract they have the right to fictionalize your story".

This was not the first sexual assault accusation leveled against Ravenel.

"Nanny Dawn" was featured on the show caring for Ravenel's two children with ex Kathryn Calhoun Dennis: daughter Kensie, four, and son Saint, two.

Real estate agent Ashley Perkins posted complaints against Ravenel online and told People magazine that her mother, Debbie Holloway Perkins, met Ravenel on dating app Tinder in October 2015, and that Ravenel had sexually assaulted her.

When a reunion show was filmed in June to wrap up the show's fifth season, Ravenel was not at the taping, according to eonline.com, which reported he was absent because of the investigation.
