Duke freshmen Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett are looking pretty unbelievable

Duke sophomore guard Alex O'Connell was hospitalized on Wednesday night after suffering an eye injury three minutes into Duke's first of three preseason exhibition games in Canada.

As was the case earlier in the week when the Blue Devils notched an 86-67 win over Ryerson, Canadian native R.J. Barrett led the way in scoring. He has been released from the hospital, rejoined the team and is expected to make a full recovery. He averaged 3.3 points and 1.4 rebounds in 10.4 minutes per game last season.

Legendary Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski also discussed Barrett's future. "I'm not saying it was intentional, but he got hit".

Barrett's fellow freshman phenom, Zion Williamson, almost mirrored his Game 1 stat line as well. "We're anxious about his eye and the socket to see what happened".

The Blue Devils have two games remaining on their tour - Friday versus the University of Toronto in Mississauga and Sunday versus McGill University in Montreal. (Oh, and this isn't all of Duke's young talent; the Blue Devils have the top-ranked recruiting class in the USA, further boosted by Cam Reddish and Tre Jones, who are missing these games thanks to injuries.) We'll see how the National Basketball Association winds up viewing Barrett and Williamson, but boy, they're certainly off to a nice start with the Blue Devils.
