The UK, which is calling for tougher sanctions against Russia, is trying to dictate foreign policy to the USA and the European Union, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Tuesday.

Jeremy Hunt, the country's new foreign secretary, was expected to call on allies to "go further" in implementing comprehensive sanctions against Russian Federation, and for the European Union and the U.S.to stand "shoulder to shoulder" when faced with threats from Moscow.

"The actions of the US Treasury have had significant consequences for the financial interests of individuals and businesses that were affected, including the blocking of hundreds of millions of dollars of Russian assets in the United States", Mandelker said on Tuesday. The U.K. and its key allies, including the USA, have blamed Russian Federation for the attack.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev threatens to retaliate against new sanctions over chemical attack against ex-spy in Britain.

Mr. Hunt's expected remarks come at a time when the Trump administration is challenging traditional partnerships over trade and other disputes, rattling allies that have long counted on the U.S.to cooperate on economic and security matters.

Separately, the Treasury Department targeted several Russian shipping companies and vessels for violating United Nations sanctions on North Korea for its nuclear program.
